Episode 8: A Visit With Minnesota Songbird Kiki Carter

Episode 8: A Visit With Minnesota Songbird Kiki Carter

I had a wonderful visit with my longtime friend, Minnesota songbird, Kiki Carter Webb, of the duo Dancing Light.  We had a great time talking about music,  sharing stories and songs, and singing a live acapella duet of one of our all-time favorites, How Can I Keep from Singing.  Sitting in our music room with the door open on a sunny November day, looking out at our (UNfrozen) lake, Kiki couldn’t help thinking about her imminent return to Minnesota, which led us to play the song Minnesota Winter, from Dancing Light’s CD, Rice Cakes From the Moon.  We also talked  about Kiki’s most recent work, a single release of the Schubert Ave Maria, accompanied by pianist Kathleen Olive, and several other songbirds.  Listen and learn just how Kiki got those birds to sing during this recording…

Beloved Unity minister Rev. Joseph Bettencourt told Kiki after a recent performance, “When you open your mouth to sing, God comes through, and it has a healing effect on people.”  Take advantage of YOUR chance to experience this healing musical journey by clicking on the button below.  Find all of Kiki’s recordings at Sunblossom Records.
