Remembering Pete Seeger–Stories, Songs, and Conversations

Legendary folk singer and iconic  peace activist Pete Seeger died at age 94, but his legacy lives on in his music and his spirit. At age 90, he was marching in the streets of New York for the Occupy movement. Pete never doubted for a minute that music could change the world and have a positive impact on humanity; he himself is the ultimate example of that.

In the early part of the New Millennium, I was able to spend several hours with Pete, interviewing him, jamming with him, and photographing him on the banks of his beloved Hudson River.  I was a musician/crew aboard the Clearwater for two of their Autumnal Pumpkin Sails along the Hudson, finishing with a concert at South Street Seaport.  It was an amazing experience. Tune in to this episode to hear in Pete’s own words how and why the ship Clearwater was built, how he became a sailor, and how he feels about politics and music. And, please do sing along! Pete will love that…
